Walking faith with our children

Children learn the gospel as much from our habits as from our explanations.

Parents often worry about saying the right spiritual words at the right time. Children usually remember something quieter: how we speak about people, how we apologize, and whether Sunday feels like dread or delight.

Faith at home can be simple. A short blessing at bedtime. A song in the car. A conversation after church about one thing that stood out. These small patterns teach children that God belongs in ordinary life.

At St. Mary's, our kids and youth ministries exist to partner with families, not replace them. When the church and the home tell the same story of grace, children grow with stronger roots.

If you feel behind, begin again this week. Ask your child one faith question and listen longer than you speak. Presence is often the best curriculum.
