Quiet mornings with God
A simple practice for starting the day with Scripture, stillness, and a steadier heart.

Some of the most faithful days begin before anyone else is awake. Not because mornings are magical, but because they give us room to listen.
At St. Mary's, we often hear people say they want a deeper prayer life and then feel discouraged when it does not look dramatic. Faithfulness is usually quieter than that. A chair by the window. A short passage. A few honest sentences spoken to God.
If you are rebuilding a rhythm this season, begin small. Choose one psalm. Read it slowly. Ask one question: What does this reveal about God's heart for me today? Then sit with the answer without rushing to the next task.
Quiet mornings will not solve everything. They can, however, reorient us before the noise arrives. That is often enough to walk through the day with a softer spirit and a clearer hope.
